This is due to how FluxBB parses links and images. It's not a huge problem, but we will add it to the list of things to do.

I'm pretty sure these forums run FluxBB, not FutureBB

My mistake. I've used FutureBB so much that I forgot about FluxBB, and we are considering converting these forums to FutureBB.

The real question is, how would that look design-wise? The forums already look very disconnected from Mod Share, wouldn't futurebb make it worse?

FutureBB does look different, but the contrast can be a nice thing. Anyway, FutureBB 1.4 supports custom style sets, so we may develop one to make it look more consistent.
