Pong with high score

Description

A simple pong game
Note: it doesn't work at all online and high score doesn't work in Insanity 1.0.

INSTRUCTIONS
*Move mouse to control paddle
*Don't let the ball fall into the lava

HOW THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR MADE THIS
*The paddle just moves it's X coordinate to whatever the mouse's X coordinate is
*I drew the ball using the gradient effect in the paint editor
*The trickiest thing for me was to get the ball to bounce off the paddle right. I ended up going on the website and finding how someone else had done it: "point in direction (180 - direction)".  I still find this confusing but it works really well. Then I turn a random amount to make it more interesting.

WHAT I ADDED
*High score - it saves your high score online
*It gets harder as you go along

The pong is broken :P

jvvg A - 23 Aug 2014 14:33:28

It probably just doesn't work well online.

Mrsrec - 24 Aug 2014 22:33:36

I Cannot Download It Either. Something Is Seriously Up.

jvvg A - 26 Aug 2014 17:14:10

It works for me...

Mrsrec - 30 Aug 2014 21:02:30

Well, You've Got Some Magic Computer Or Something. Meanwhile, I'm Going To Do Something Useful And Go To Bugs And Glitches Forum

Mrsrec - 13 Sep 2014 22:48:38

Actually, I Can't Download It Either

jvvg A - 14 Sep 2014 14:50:27

It still works for me. I don't know what's wrong on your end.

Mrsrec - 28 Sep 2014 03:58:45

I Could Swear I Posted A Comment Here About My Wiki Talk Page--Did You Remove It?

jvvg A - 28 Sep 2014 14:55:15

This is not the place to discuss Wiki bans. To answer your original question, several users made messages, but they were all removed. There are not any actual new messages on your talk page.

Mrsrec - 30 Sep 2014 13:02:40

Molybdenum Is Banned On The Wiki---And They Got To. Besides, I Don't Even Want To Discuss It, Just Don't Do That.

Hey jvvg, remember http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Question1776/3066633 ? Well, apparently I got IP banned from the main site now. (I expected that, but not that fast :P) Good thing is wes has made me an email :P

Molybdenum - 29 Jan 2013 21:34:16

(forgot to say this) Could you tell Hardmath (in an obscure place) that? I'm sure he would want to know.

jvvg A - 29 Jan 2013 22:54:00

Yeah, I remember that. You're not supposed to use alt accounts to get around bans. Anyway, cool that you got an email. I usually get a response to my emails within a few hours, but in your case, it might take up to a week, as most of my emails just require a simple answer or something, but you are a slightly more complex matter.

Molybdenum - 29 Jan 2013 23:23:28

I smell paper - Nevermind, it's my printer :P I think my response might be in a few months, as that's fun's experience on similar matters.

jvvg A - 30 Jan 2013 00:13:01

I've never had it take that long... The longest it's ever taken for me was one week, and that's because I asked them if this website could be hosted on ScratchR.org, and it took them a while to debate it. Anyway, you should at least get a response within a week (if not a few hours or a day), but it might say that you will be unbanned in a month.

Molybdenum - 30 Jan 2013 00:37:50

A month is probably too long for us to wait :P Fun and I actually think the ST might be ignoring the email or its in the spam folder over there, but we're not sure.

Molybdenum - 30 Jan 2013 01:57:02

And by any chance do you have wes64's email? If so, could you send it to me in an admin notification?

jvvg A - 30 Jan 2013 02:06:29

No, sadly, I do not have it.

Molybdenum - 30 Jan 2013 02:08:05

Could you ask him/her for it?

jvvg A - 30 Jan 2013 16:35:49

I'm not allowed to ask for emails and stuff on Scratch, so I am unable to.

Molybdenum - 30 Jan 2013 21:24:22

:( Then could you tell wes to email the email he made for me with his email? I overused the word "email" :P

Molybdenum - 30 Jan 2013 22:55:02

Testing the add a reply function :)

Molybdenum - 01 Feb 2013 22:06:44

Hey jvvg, I commented in the wrong place, could you check the comment chain below here?

jvvg A - 03 Feb 2013 16:23:29

I believe that this is because they really don't trust you anymore because you used an alt to get around the ban. They need your parents to contact them because they need a responsible adult to help verify that they can trust you again.

Molybdenum - 03 Feb 2013 18:15:58

So in conclusion, just because my parents do not want to get involved in something that shouldn't have happened (according to some users on another forum), I can't get unbanned. I think I've just went a complete circle without going anywhere :P

jvvg A - 04 Feb 2013 01:07:00

Stop blaming the Scratch Team or your parents for your actions. You posted disrespectful comments on Scratch, and got what you deserved. Had you been more respectful in the first place, then none of that would have happened. Then, you try using an alt to get around the ban when the ST has said in many places that they will increase ban time for that, and it shows that they can't trust you. Had you not posted the disrespectful comments, then you wouldn't have been banned. Had you not used an alt, then your parents probably could have stayed out of it. You essentially dug your own grave there.

Molybdenum - 04 Feb 2013 03:14:10

As I told wes, messages that some people may consider "disrespectful" are not to others. Had I not used an alt, what would I have done? Got an email (when I can't)? Wouldn't have been able. Asked my parents? You say that would be avoidable. You're saying that I got banned when people misinterpret my words. Not avoidable, unless someone asks the original poster for clarification.    And I found that message very... Ah, here. "It feels like a personal attack." So getting misinterpreted is unavoidable, and by extension, my ban. (oh and I'm not the only one who thinks this - many others do, they're just afraid of being banned to say it)

jvvg A - 04 Feb 2013 14:09:46

Ok, seriously, stop ranting about your ban. You could have gone to Yahoo (ymail.com), Windows Live (live.com), your ISP (webmail.earthlink.net), or hundreds of other places to get an address. Instead you chose to use an alt to get around the ban. I will delete any further comments about your Scratch ban as you know full well that ranting about it here won't get anything done about it. LS97 and I can't do anything about it. We have no relation with the Scratch Team.

jvvg A - 11 Mar 2013 01:02:10

Hey, just wondering, could you forward me the full email you got from the ST (you now have my email address)? I just want to read over it to get further insight into the ST's policies.

Molybdenum - 11 Mar 2013 01:31:23

Ok, I'll do it if I have time and remember.

jvvg A - 11 Mar 2013 01:48:57

Got it, thanks.

Error:say[get cloud var[Username] for (2) secs]
Comes up with Error.

jvvg A - 21 Jan 2013 16:16:00

If the variable doesn't exist for your project, it returns that. To make it exist, you need to set it.

Molybdenum - 01 Feb 2013 21:51:19

Hey, I thought you might be interested. I recieved an email about 1 or two days ago (but I forgot to tell you). At the end of my message (which is a bit long to put here), there was this: "You may have your parents contact us to request to be unblocked. We will not respond to further messages sent from your accounts.", even though they had said to get unbanned I either needed to get an email/use my parent's, of which I did the first one. Why do you think that happened? Isn't it kinda mean to not reply to people? (By the way, could you tell wes to check his email? I want to make sure my reply wasn't miscounted as spam) What are your thoughts about this?

Molybdenum - 01 Feb 2013 21:51:39

Oh whoops, put it in the wrong comment chain.

Can you tell me the cloud variable blocks in Insanity 1.2

jvvg A - 20 Jan 2013 13:42:57

They're under the "System" category, and are "get cloud variable []" and "set cloud variable [] to []".

Devloper123 - 02 Feb 2013 08:08:05

But I can't save the project!

jvvg A - 02 Feb 2013 15:44:44

That's a first. I'm able to save all of mine, and so is everyone else I've asked. :/ The only time I couldn't save projects is while I was developing it and accidentally messed up the saving process, but I reverted that.

Froze game in Chrome on Windows 8

jvvg A - 18 Jan 2013 13:07:49

It's because the web player doesn't support modded blocks, like Insanity cloud variables.

I'll download have a look at cloud stuff can't make a cloud variable in Instatiy 1.2

jvvg A - 14 Jan 2013 19:48:02

They work for me, though. Do they not work in that data just doesn't persist? If that is the case, remember that they go with the project.

curiouscrab - 17 Dec 2012 20:22:51

Yay! On the wiki some users are going into Flash and PHP and all that good stuff. We can always ask them.

curiouscrab - 17 Dec 2012 20:09:16

Is there a way to fix that? Make an entirely new thing starting with v37?

jvvg A - 17 Dec 2012 20:12:27

I have absolutely no knowledge of Flash, so I can't do it. However, SJRCS_011 is making a mod-supported Java player, and when he finishes it, we'll use that.

curiouscrab - 17 Dec 2012 03:22:47

It doesn't appear to work online. No projects do. I think there's an error in the site scripting.

jvvg A - 17 Dec 2012 14:31:12

Most projects don't work online, because we use the Scratch player, which doesn't support any modified blocks.

001002003004 - 06 Jun 2014 23:07:35

so we must download it
