Mod Share Terms of Use

Mod Share is a community driven site. Because of that, you are ultimately responsible for keeping it safe. So, please follow the following rules:

Keep everything appropriate - This is a site for all ages, so all content submitted must be appropriate for those ages
Be respectful - Respect actions and opinions of others and don't be mean or rude to anybody.
Give credit when remixing or copying stuff - Don't take someone else's work and claim it as your own. Always give credit to creators of content used in a project somewhere in it (e.g. the project description, the project intro screen, etc.)
Be constructive - Everything done here must have a legitimate purpose. All comments need to be on-topic and related to the topic at hand. Do not post links to your projects on other people's projects or on the forums unless it is somehow related.
Be honest - Always tell the truth, do not pretend to be someone you are not, and do not try to game the community.
Flag/report anything that doesn't follow the above rules - We want to be able to keep the site entirely clean, and we need the users to help us out. If you see anything that violates these rules, please let us know by reporting/flagging it or contacting us.

Extended behavior rules

Everything uploaded must have a legitimate purpose, and the title/subject should not be misleading

The following things are not allowed in any place on this site under any circumstances

Inappropriate images
Profanity (inappropriate language)
Excessive violence in projects (mild violence is ok)
Anything that is rude to any individual or group
"Spam" or posting links to stuff that isn't related to the topic at hand
Copying work from anybody else without giving credit in a visible place
Lies, fake/hoax information, or impersonation of another user
Reporting stuff that obviously is not inappropriate (if we see why you might think it is inappropriate even if we disagree, that is acceptable)

Consequences

If you break any of these rules the content violating the rules will be removed, and one of the following can happen:

A notification through the site messaging system asking the poster to stop
A temporary ban from a specific feature
A temporary ban from the entire site
A permanent ban from the entire site
A temporary or permanent ban from the Scratch website
Data being passed on to anti-spam sites
The Mod Share Team taking part in a lawsuit against the creator (usually in the case of copyright violations)

Privacy policy

Whenever using this site, you agree to submit your IP address. That will only be used for analytics purposes or for tracking users in the case of bad behavior. Any other information you submit to us, you agree to let us keep for as long as we see fit. Information such as IP addresses and email addresses will remain private on our servers. However, should you be found to be breaking any rules or laws, we reserve the right to pass along any information we have to legal authorities or to anti-SPAM sites.

Your password on this site is hashed with the crypt() function for security. It will remain private and hashed on this server.

Although responses to admin notifications and contact emails are sent in a private manner, we reserve the right to make them public for any reason.

The servers store a copy of content deleted by users. This content is visible to the Mod Share Team and may be used as aid in punishing an infringement. The content will not be disclosed to third parties unless required by applicable law.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act of 1998, The E.U. Data Protection Directive, and the U.S. Right to Privacy Act of 1974. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please use the contact form. If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please contact us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

Copyright

Projects uploaded on this site are protected under the Mod Share Project License to the extent allowed under international law. However, we reserve the right to treat all other private and public communication stored on our databases (including comments, forum posts, private messages) as void of its copyright and may decide to use it or release it to third parties for any reason. For this reason, you are strongly advised to either not quote copyrighted material or to credit your sources.

Changes

Modifications to these terms, notices, and privacy policy may be made and put into practice at any time without the notification or consent of all users. Therefore, please check periodically for changes to the site's policies to make sure you agree with our terms.

Future changes may be applied retroactively to submitted content.
